About Dean Zanetos

Dean ZanetosHarnessing more than 30 years of experience in the motion picture and television industry, producer and director Dean Zanetos strikes a fine balance between complex production techniques and audience appeal, while also meeting strict studio requirements. Dean Zanetos is a member of the Directors Guild and affiliated with both the Producers and Cinematographers guilds as well.

Over the past decade, Dean Zanetos has directed film and television productions with budgets totaling more than $120 million. Every year since 2004, he has been directing and producing video at the Sonoma Jazz Festival, a world-class California event featuring music legends like Herbie Hancock; Crosby, Stills & Nash; Steve Miller; Sheryl Crow; Tony Bennett; Natalie Cole; and Diana Krall. Mr. Zanetos also has directed videos for releases including the Steve Winwood album About Time; Luis Miguel’s Latin Grammy Album of the Year, and its 1999-2000 world tour CD; and Jimmy Buffett’s 1999 through 2004 tours.

In addition, Mr. Zanetos has produced numerous made-for-TV movies, including the pilot for the NBC Television series Misfits of Science; ABC’s Hawaiian Heat and Nightside; The Legend of the Golden Gun; and the NBC movie of the week Battles: The Murder That Wouldn’t Die, starring William Conrad.

Dean Zanetos has produced various television series as well. He directed and produced The Robert Guillaume Show for ABC Television and The Vintage Years for syndicated television, as well as live MTV music specials for several consecutive years. For Universal Studios, Mr. Zanetos produced Voyagers, Cliffhangers, and Galactica 1980. He also produced the Fitz and Bones TV series.

Before his television industry experience, Dean Zanetos served as a director and cameraman in the US Army, where he photographed and directed motion picture operations for the Third Army. Following his military service, Mr. Zanetos was a cameraman in a wide range of projects, including low-budget productions for Roger Corman and documentaries for the United States Information Agency (USIA) and ABC Wide World of Sports.

Mr. Zanetos is a graduate of the University of Denver.
